Grand Theft Auto 6 is coming! But with no official PC release date announced, the question on everyone’s mind is: when will GTA 6 come to PC? We’ll tell you everything you need to know about GTA 6 on PC.
GTA 6 is probably coming to PC. However, an official release date for this console hasn’t been confirmed yet. Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick explained in an interview that this is due to focus: “Rockstar always starts with consoles, because with such a release, you’re always judged by how well you know your core audience. If you don’t help that group as well as you can at first, you’ll never reach the rest.”
This explanation aligns with other major Rockstar releases, such as Grand Theft Auto 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2. Even if Zelnick doesn’t give a definitive answer on whether GTA 6 will get a PC version, it’s very likely that the game will come to this platform as well.
A release date for GTA 6 on PC hasn’t been revealed yet. All we know is that the PC version will definitely not be released on November 19, 2026. On this date, GTA 6 will be released exclusively on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
The biggest clue to a GTA 6 PC release date is a leak by X-user DetectiveSeeds. He says the PC version is coming in February 2027, according to 3 former Rockstar employees. If this information is correct, it would be a lot quicker than Rockstar usually releases games on PC.

If the GTA 6 PC version were to release in February 2027, there would be only about 90 days between the releases. However, DetectiveSeeds also mentions in the leak that this timeline is just an estimate and could shift at any time.
There are several reasons why games often release later on PC. First of all, it has to do with the console that the company wants to focus on, as Zelnick explained. Besides that, game exclusivity on consoles can drive up sales of that specific console. This is sometimes taken into consideration, especially with big game releases.
A third reason is that, as a Reddit user explained, when developing a game for PC, you have to deal with many different versions. Each PC is unique and has different combinations of CPU, RAM, video cards, storage, and more. On consoles, you only have to develop for one or maybe two systems, which makes it preferable.
Since we don’t have any official information about GTA 6's PC release yet, we also don’t know for sure whether this game is coming to Steam. However, since all the last big Rockstar releases like GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 are available on Steam, it’s very likely that GTA 6 will also come to Steam.
Unfortunately, we also don’t have any information about the costs of GTA 6 on PC. The console price for GTA 6 is expected to be between $70 and $80 (this information hasn’t been confirmed). Most likely, the cost for GTA 6 on PC will be in the same range.
