GTA 6 gameplay & features: everything confirmed
GTA 6 is finally releasing on November 19, 2026. Of course, this means every gamer is busy trying to figure out which new features and gameplay updates are coming to the game. That’s why we gathered all the confirmed information.
GTA 6 gameplay: what's new
Since we haven’t seen an actual GTA 6 gameplay trailer yet, we don’t know what this part of the game will look like. One thing that’s very likely to be a key feature of GTA 6 is dual-character switching. This is because we know the game has two main protagonists, and GTA 5 was known for the way it changed between the three main characters to tell the story.
Other features rumoured to be part of GTA 6 gameplay include a 6-star wanted system, updates to the police AI tracking system, and an integrated social media network.
GTA 6 new features list
Just like the gameplay, we don’t know much yet about the new features coming to GTA 6. Below you’ll find the features that are likely to show up in the new game:
- Dual-character switching.
- Map that’s double the size of GTA 5.
- More than 700 shops and locations.
- Expansive wildlife system (featuring alligators, boars, dogs, snakes, flamingos, dolphins, sharks, and more).
- Explorable underwater cities.
- Post-launch expansions.
One thing that is confirmed is that GTA 6 will take place in Vice City in the state of Leonida. Aside from Vice City, there are a bunch of other places to visit in the state. The following locations are coming to GTA 6:
- Leonida Keys
- Grassrivers
- Port Gellhorn
- Ambrosia
- Mount Kalaga
Playable characters: Jason & Lucia
The main characters of GTA 6 are Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos. When this modern-day Bonnie and Clyde duo gets caught up in the middle of a criminal conspiracy, they have to make their way out alive. The question is: can they rely on each other?
Lucia Caminos
When we meet Lucia, she’s fresh out of prison, ready with a plan to change the odds in her favour. Her father taught her to fight when she was still very young, and life has been tough for her ever since. She wants things to be different this time, and she’s ready to make that sacrifice at whatever cost. Besides that, she’s the first female protagonist ever in a GTA game.
Jason Duval
Jason has been around crime for most of his life. After serving some time in the army, he again finds himself working for some local drug dealers. He’s ready for a change, but is that possible?

Confirmed vehicles & weapons
A Grand Theft Auto game isn’t complete without some good weapons and vehicles. We don’t know yet what GTA 6 has in store for us, but based on the pre-order benefits and Ultimate Edition features, we have some confirmed items.

GTA 6 Online
Unfortunately, there’s no information yet on what will happen to GTA Online and whether we will get a GTA 6 Online version. For now, all we know is that GTA 6 will be single-player at launch. Rumours on what will happen with this part of the game vary. Some gamers on Reddit seem to think that GTA 6 won’t include an online mode and will be sold separately.
