When we talk about GTA 6 leaks, we can’t leave out the biggest one of all: the September 2022 leak. On this date, a user called ‘teapotuberhacker’ uploaded over 90 images and videos containing footage and behind-the-scenes information about GTA 6 on GTAForums.com. What was so groundbreaking about this hack was that GTA 6 hadn’t been announced yet on this date. It was the first time the world got to see a glimpse of the game, without Rockstar's permission.
Take Two immediately took action and made sure all the information was taken offline. On September 19, 2022, they released a statement saying they would release information when they were ready and thanking everyone for their support.
The information contained details such as characters, locations and vehicles. Since the leak was completely taken offline, it’s hard to find images of what it actually contained. But given Take Two’s reaction, it seemed to be pretty accurate information.

Below, you’ll find the most important GTA 6 leaks listed. Did they turn out to be true or not? Let’s find out!
In December of 2023, a couple of days before the first GTA 6 trailer would drop, some footage of Vice City was leaked on TikTok. The video showed an early build of the Stockyard neighbourhood in the game. The leak hasn’t been confirmed by Rockstar, but since the footage was very in line with what was shown in the first trailer, most gamers believe it to be real.
December 2023 On December 4, 2023, the first trailer for GTA 6 was released. However, 16 hours before it was scheduled to go up, a low-quality version with the text ‘BUY $BTC’ spread online. Rockstar took it down quickly and released their own trailer earlier. Since the leaked footage matched the actual trailer, we can say this leak was correct.
On January 1st, 2025, a photo of a monitor in the Rockstar San Diego office appeared on Reddit. It shows Lucia somewhere in Leonida. The post was deleted quickly, and nothing was ever confirmed. Former Rockstar Toronto character animator Benjamin Chue uploaded a demo reel featuring a character interacting with a LomBike on November 30, 2025. The footage was quickly taken offline, and nothing was confirmed. Since it was posted by an actual character animator, it’s highly believed to be real.
