It's been 10 years since Grand Theft Auto 5 was released, so we've been waiting quite a while for the next instalment. GTA 6 is expected to be bigger, better, and more beautiful! But what is the release date of GTA 6?
GTA 6 release date officially confirmed
It’s been delayed again, but Rockstar Games has now finally announced an official release date: GTA 6 is coming on May 26, 2026. According to Rockstar, the company wants to “exceed your expectations at launch.”
In an official statement, Rockstar says:
“We’re sorry this is later than you were expecting. The interest and excitement around a new Grand Theft Auto is overwhelming for our entire team. We want to thank you for your support and patience as we finish the game.
With every game we’ve released, our goal has been to exceed your expectations — and GTA VI is no exception. We hope you understand that we need this extra time to deliver the quality you expect and deserve.”
