Will GTA 6 be cross-platform?
We don’t know yet if GTA 6 will be cross-platform. Rockstar Games has not made an official statement on this, so there’s no official information on GTA 6 and cross-platform play. But there are some theories floating around.
No official answer from Rockstar Games
The hype for GTA 6 is real, and naturally, gamers want to know if they’ll be able to play the game with friends on other consoles. There’s still a lot unknown about Grand Theft Auto VI, including whether or not the game will support cross-platform play.
For now, all we know is that the game will release on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19, 2026. A PC release will likely follow soon after, but this has not been confirmed yet.

On the other hand, it’s been a while since GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption were released, and more and more games are now supporting cross-platform play. So gamers are speculating that it’s more likely for Rockstar Games to make GTA VI cross-platform as well.
Our opinion on GTA 6 cross-platform
We think it’s very likely that Grand Theft Auto 6 will support cross-platform play, since so many games have this feature now. If Rockstar wants to compete with the current trends, it’s crucial to use this functionality in GTA VI. However, we doubt if cross-play will be introduced upon release. It’ll probably be introduced as a later update, maybe together with an online version of the game.
But this is all speculation, of course. We’ll have to wait until Rockstar Games makes an official announcement on the cross-platform playability of GTA 6 before we can confirm anything.
