GTA 6 Map: Vice City, size, leaks and locations

A bank-robbing couple, the first female lead in the franchise, and all set in the sunny Grand Theft Auto 6 location of Vice City. Rockstar hasn't revealed everything about the GTA 6 map yet, but between official trailers and a steady stream of leaks, we're building a clearer picture of the Grand Theft Auto 6 city, its size, and all the key locations. Here's what we know so far.

Welcome to Vice City! In GTA 6, we’re returning to this bustling place. Vice City is inspired by Miami, and you can definitely see the influence. From the glitzy nightlife in the city centre to the swamp-like outskirts, where alligators are common. These are all the places you can visit in GTA 6: 

  • Vice City
  • Leonida Keys
  • Grassrivers
  • Port Gellhorn
  • Ambrosia
  • Mount Kalaga

Although we’ve got a confirmed list of all the places in the game, the GTA 6 map is still a big mystery. That hasn’t stopped fans from speculating, though! Players are convinced that the map of GTA VI will be much bigger than the one in GTA V. There’s a big mapping project compiling all the leaks and rumours. If this project is correct, we could potentially be looking at a map that’s double the size of Los Santos.

GTA 6 Story

The GTA 6 trailers and the Extended Look gave us some insight into the story of this new game. We play as the bank-robbing couple, Lucia and Jason. Lucia hasn’t had the best past, and after spending some time in prison, she’s determined to turn the odds around in her favour. Jason has been around crime all his life and moved to Leonida Keys in an attempt to get away from it all.

Together, they form a modern-day Bonnie and Clyde. The couple is busy gearing up for one last score together, maybe the robbery of a lifetime?

The trailer of GTA 6 focusses on 2 main protagonists: Lucia and Jason. Let’s dive further into their characters!

Female protagonist: Lucia


Lucia is the first-ever female protagonist in GTA history, and with that, she’s already an iconic character. She is a fighter and has learned to take the hits life throws at her from a very young age. All this fighting got her into Leonida Penitentiary, but now that she’s out, she’s ready to take matters into her own hands. She desperately wants the good life her mother has dreamed of forever, and Jason may be her ticket to this fantasy.

After working for and around criminals his whole life, Jason is ready to try something new. He dreams of an easy life, but things just seem to keep getting harder. Meeting Lucia might be the best thing that ever happened to him, or the worst. Jason knows how he wants it to turn out, but he’s not sure things will actually go his way.

GTA 6 gameplay and new features in Vice City

In GTA VI: The Extended Look, which premiered on Netflix on August 27, 2026, we got a first look at the GTA 6 gameplay. There’s a lot to look forward to!

Dual-protagonist system

In GTA 6, you can play as both Lucia and Jason. Switching between the two happens almost instantly, so you can instantly decide what to focus on. But that’s not all, because while you’re busy controlling one character in a mission, the other one is controlled by AI to help you complete the task.

Return of the six-star wanted system

The wanted system got a major update in GTA 6. For the last title in the franchise, the number of stars was reduced to five, but we’re getting the six stars back! Besides that, the police tracking system also works a bit differently. You can now see what law enforcement knows about you. Based on icons, you can see if they know about your appearance, weapons or vehicle, for example.

Lifestyle impacts your character's looks

One of the most fun things about GTA: San Andreas was that the choices you made could have an impact on the physical appearance of your character. This feature is making a return in GTA 6! Food and exercise affect Lucia’s and Jason’s appearance, and a lack of sleep can make them look tired as well.
