Why iTunes cards became Apple gift cards

Back in 2022 Apple decided to combine all their different gift cards into one. That means you can no longer buy separate vouchers for iTunes or the App Store, but you can use the Apple gift card for all things Apple. This limits the amount of different gift cards Apple needs to keep track of and simplifies the purchasing process for the customer.

How to use your Apple gift card for iTunes

To use your Apple gift card for iTunes, you’ll need to redeem your Apple gift card with an Apple ID. You can do this on your iPhone, iPad or any other Apple device. Just follow the steps below:

  1. Go to the App Store app
  2. Go to your profile at the top right of your screen
  3. Select “redeem your gift card or code”
  4. Enter the code manually, or with your camera

Once this is done, you can go to the iTunes app, log into your Apple ID and pay with the credit!

What can I do with an iTunes voucher?

Once you redeem your Apple gift card for iTunes, you can spend the credit on some great stuff:

  • Listen to immersive audiobooks
  • Tune in for exiting podcast episodes
  • Watch the newest movies and TV-shows
  • Listen to songs and albums from your favourite artists
