If you want to get access to everything freenet TV has to offer, you’ll need to activate your service with a freenet gift card. Registering for freenet is quick and easy! Simply follow these steps:

  1. Go to https://www.freenet.tv/starten and enter your postal code to determine the reception quality at your desired location
  2. After confirming your postal code, the freenet TV tool will check if your receiving location is ready for freenet TV
  3. If you’re capable of receiving freenet TV at your current location, you can move on to selecting a suitable receiver for your TV set. Choose either a TV module (DVB-T2 HD) if your TV has a CI+ slot or pick a receiver, which will work with all TVs with an HDMI or Scart connection
  4. Finally, pick an antenna that is suitable for your receiving location
  5. You’ve now completed your very own freenet TV starter pack and you’re ready to redeem your freenet TV gift card.

Activating your freenet TV card is easy and can be done both online and by telephone.

Activating your freenet TV gift card online:

Important note for activation:

In order to speed up the activation of your freenet card, it is recommended that you first switch on your device and select a private program (e.g. RTL HD). If you haven’t done so, activation may take up to a few hours and during this time, your device must be switched on to a private program, even if nothing is displayed on the TV screen.

You can also extend your freenet TV service by following the steps mentioned above. Don’t worry, extending your freenet TV service before your previous credit has expired won’t overwrite your current balance. The newly added credit will only begin once your existing credit has expired.

Wondering how much longer your freenet TV will be valid? Log into your customer account via https://www.freenet.tv/meinkonto and find all the information on the terms of your freenet TV credit.

Alternatively, you can also find out how long your freenet device will be activated by going to the menu/settings of your receiver or TV with CI+ module. Look for a menu/settings tab named “freenet TV”, “freenet Menu” or “freenet Services”. Under “freenet TV Bouquet”, you’ll see when your freenet TV activation ends.
