There’s a new Pokémon game coming! And this one is centred around the popular trading card game. In Pokémon TCG Pocket (PTCGP), you can collect cards on your phone and build the Pokémon Card collection of your dreams. We’ll tell you if you can trade cards in Pokémon TCG and whether it’s going to replace TCG Live.
Pokémon TCG Pocket is a new way to collect your favourite Pokémon Cards. The mobile app comes out on October 30th and brings the joy of opening Pokémon packs to your phone. With two free daily packs and immersive cards that take you right into the beautiful artwork, this app is a must-download for all Pokémon fans.
When you download TCG Pocket, you get to open two virtual Pokémon packs for free daily, filled with classic and new enchanting designs. For now, this is the only way to collect the different cards and build your deck. That means trading is not possible, yet. The developers want to include trading to give users extra ways to obtain their favourite cards. However, this feature will not be available at launch, but will be added to the game later.
The new Pokémon TCG Pocket app will be free to play and download in the Google Play and Apple Store! For a change of better or more exclusive cards, there are in-app purchases like boosters and stamina that increase your chances.
Gear up with Apple and Google Play gift cards and get the best cards when Pokémon Pocket TCG releases on October 30th!
Aside from collecting cards, you can battle against players from all over the world. The battle system works the same as when you play the game with real cards. Never understood the rules of the Pokémon Card game growing up? Don’t worry! The gameplay is simplified in the app, so even people that have never played the game before can compete. You also get points for winning battles, that will in turn give you higher chances of collecting rare cards.
A new Pokémon Card app is nice and all, but isn’t there already a mobile game? You’re right! Pokémon TCG Live was released in 2022 and in this game you can also collect Pokémon Cards.
Live, however, focuses mainly on battling and building the perfect deck, while Pocket seems to be more focused on collecting. Aside from that, Pocket incorporates a more casual way of playing the TCG game. The game simplifies the battle system, which makes it perfect for on-the-go play.
For now, these two different games will exist alongside each other and Pocket will not replace TCG Live. Pocket will have a completely new and unique set of cards, which means the deck you build on Live can’t be transferred to Pocket. As well as other code cards that you have on Live won’t work in Pocket.
