Nintendo officially announced the release date for the Nintendo Switch 2! On June 5, 2025 we can start playing on this brand-new Nintendo console. When can you pre-order, and what will the Nintendo Switch 2 cost? We'll tell you what to expect!
Nintendo has officially confirmed that the Nintendo Switch 2 will be released on 5 June 2025.
Pre-orders go live on 8 April 2025 via the Nintendo Store. Other UK retailers where you'll be able to pre-order include Argos, while you can register your interest at Currys, Amazon UK and Smyths.
The Nintendo Switch 2 is confirmed to cost £395.99 in the UK. You can also pre-order the Nintendo Switch 2 Console and Mario Kart World Bundle Edition at the price of £429.99.
Nintendo has also launched a new overview trailer showcasing the new hardware. The new Switch 2 will be larger with 1080p and 120fps, it supports HDR, the Joy-Cons are bigger and they support mouse control. It’s primarily black, with pops of colour on the controllers.
The Nintendo Switch 2 will also support compatible Nintendo Switch 1 games. There are also some Nintendo Switch 2 announced like: Mario Kart World, Donkey Kong Bananza, and Kirby Air Riders. More details will be shared later on the official Nintendo website.
