With frequent content updates every season, the best weapons and loadouts in Call of Duty: Warzone are always changing. If you’re looking for the best loadouts to currently use in Warzone, look no further. We’ve got you covered with the best weapons, perks and equipment to add to your custom loadout. Let’s dive right in!
Thanks to the full integration of all weapons from CoD: Modern Warfare, CoD: Black Ops Cold War and CoD: Vanguard, you can choose from a wide variety of weapons on the Warzone Pacific map “Caldera”. We’ll go over the best assault rifles, the best submachine guns (SMGs), the best sniper rifles and the best light machine guns (LMGs) that you can currently equip in Warzone.
Assault rifles are the go-to weapons for many Warzone players as they’re a viable option from nearly every range. Assault rifles excel in medium to long range gunfights so we recommend combining an assault rifle with either an SMG for close-quarters combat or a sniper rifle to extend your lethal range even further. The following assault rifles are currently your best options in Warzone.
First up is the XM4. This assault rifle was introduced in Black Ops Cold War but is still a very reliable option in Warzone thanks to its high rate of fire and decent damage. The XM4 is also very accurate and fairly easy to control which makes it a good weapon for both beginners and veterans.

The Automaton is another highly accurate assault rifle with a high rate of fire. Similar to the XM4, the Automaton is relatively easy to control, which makes it a very lethal weapon in anyone’s hands. The Automaton also has a 75 round drum magazine which is even bigger than the 60 round magazine on the XM4. Try out the Automaton and see for yourself!

If you're looking for a bit more firepower, the Cold War AK-47 should be your preferred pick in the assault rifle category. The AK-47 has a higher damage output than the previously mentioned XM4 and Automaton. Unfortunately, this comes at the cost of increased recoil which can make the AK-47 difficult to control, especially at longer ranges. If you feel confident in your ability to control its recoil, the AK-47 can become one of the most lethal assault rifles in all of Warzone.

If you find yourself in a gunfight up close and personal, an SMG is your best friend. SMGs have always been a staple in Warzone with meta weapons such as the MAC-10 and the OTs 9, and they remain a very good choice for your loadout. We currently recommend the following SMGs in Warzone.
The Owen Gun is probably the most versatile SMG in Warzone Pacific Season 3 and as a result, our current top pick in this slot. The Owen Gun is the second fastest killing SMG, only bested by the Type 100 which is generally not a good option because of its small 36 round magazine. On top of that, the Owen Gun performs great at both close to medium range and can be equipped with a whopping 72 round drum magazine. This makes the Owen Gun the best SMG for nearly any close quarters encounter.

The Welgun is another great SMG, originating from Vanguard. The Welgun has slightly less damage output than the Owen Gun, but it makes up for this with its pinpoint accuracy. The Welgun is very easy to control which makes it a great weapon for players at all skill levels. If you prefer accuracy over raw damage, the Welgun is your SMG pick.

The MP40 has been one of the most dominant weapons in all of Warzone since its introduction in Warzone Pacific Season 1. Even now, the MP40 is still absolutely lethal at close range and it can even compete at medium range. It’s not the most original weapon to use, but if you’re looking for a solid SMG to add to your loadout, you can’t go wrong with the MP40.

Tired of using the same old MP40 setup? The PPSh-41 is a fresh SMG that can definitely hold its own against any close-range weapon. This iconic Russian weapon excels at up-close gunfight thanks to its insanely high rate of fire and good damage output. The main drawback of the PPSh-41 is its recoil, which can be difficult to control at times, especially at longer ranges. Stick to where the PPSh-41 shines and you’ll definitely get to experience its true power.

Sniper rifles are unique in Warzone because they are lethal at nearly any range and can drop players within the blink of an eye. If you want to contest other players outside of the regular assault rifle/LMG range, a sniper is a must-have. Combine one of the following snipers with a SMG or an assault rifle and you’ll have a very well-rounded Warzone loadout.
Our top pick in the sniper category is the Cold War ZRG 20mm. This sniper rifle is the best all-rounder thanks to its great Aim Down Sights (ADS) time, fire rate, range and bullet velocity. You simply can't go wrong with the ZRG 20mm in your sniper loadout.

The Kar98k has been in Warzone ever since its release back in 2020, but that doesn’t make it any less lethal. This sniper rifle is a great all-rounder with a fast ADS speed, great bullet velocity and a nice rate of fire. Odds are you’ve already unlocked some attachments for the Kar98k, so you can add it to your loadout right away.

Another option for your sniper rifle is the Swiss K31. This Black Ops Cold War sniper rifle is quite similar to the Kar98k as it also sports great ADS speed, bullet velocity and rate of fire. The key difference between the two is that the Kar98k aims slightly faster but has slightly slower bullet velocity. This means that the Swiss K31 will most likely be better suited to you if you like taking gunfights at extremely long ranges whereas the Kar98k is your preferred sniper if you want to play a tad bit faster. It’s also good to note that the Kar98k needs to reload each bullet separately whereas the Swiss K31 can reload an entire magazine at once.

Last but not least, the LMG category. Although LMGs are usually not the most desired weapons because of their slower mobility and reload times, LMGs can be very dangerous thanks to their high damage output and impeccable precision. If you know how to play around the drawbacks of an LMG, you can outdamage almost any player at nearly any range.
If you’ve been playing Warzone Pacific, you’re probably already familiar with the Bren. This World War 2 LMG has taken Warzone by storm and not without reason. The Bren sports a high rate of fire, great damage and excellent precision, which makes this LMG play almost like an assault rifle. The main drawbacks of the Bren are its slower ADS speed and its lower mobility, which you’ll have to consider when equipping the Bren in your loadout.

The second perk slot is a lot more competitive, these are the best perks in the Perk 2 slot:
Tip for Perk 2 slot: you can get your hands on both Overkill and another Perk 2 if you find or buy two loadouts in the same game. Simply pick a loadout with Overkill at your first loadout drop, this will equip you with two primary weapons. Then, once you’ve found or bought a second loadout drop, pick a loadout with a different Perk 2 such as Ghost. This will drop your Overkill weapons on the ground and equip you with a brand new loadout, after which you can simply pick your Overkill weapons back up. This way you can have the best of both worlds!
