Xbox Live Games with Gold for June 2021!

A new month has arrived and this month's Xbox Games with Gold sure are action-packed! With some fairly new titles that you can now play for free when you have an Xbox Live Gold subscription. Here’s what’s in store for June (and for you):

Shadows: Awakening

Shadows: Awakening is a so-called ‘unique isometric single-player RPG’. And without further explanation of that terminology, it is very true that the 3D graphics look great. But of course, an RPG also needs a gripping storyline! You can definitely indulge yourself with this game. How often do you get the opportunity to crawl into the skin of the demonic 'Devourer' from the Shadow Realm? There’s only one way to experience this, and it’s with Shadows: Awakening!

Just don't be too squeamish and devour some souls here and there, because hey, that's what a demon does. Deal with it, go for some soul-slurping and in the meantime: enjoy the epic adventure, well thought out storyline and enchanting graphics in this game! Available from June 16 to July 15.

The King’s Bird

In this precision platformer you escape to a secret world (which looks really beautiful!) The challenge in this game is the fact that you have to use a lot of momentum and overcome the super realistic physics. You’ll jump and slide through a world of silhouettes, with a minimalistic but very artistic and colorful design.

Of course, the game gets harder and harder as you progress. What will initially give you an intense feeling of 'Zen' and ultimate freedom, can start feeling like an impossible task a bit further in the game. Because the more progress you make, the more that 'precision' part of the 'precision platform genre' comes into play. This game is therefore perhaps less suitable for the frustrated controller-throwing gamers among us. So play at your own risk, but when it comes to the looks of The King's Bird, we say: just go for it! This game will be available for free with Xbox Live Gold from June 1 to June 30.

NeoGeo Battle Coliseum

The title of this game is a mouthful, so you often see it abbreviated as NGBC. As long as the title may be, the explanation is a whole lot shorter: it’s a 2-on-2 tag team fighting game. Regardless of how many players participate. However, there’s also a Single Player mode which is somewhat unusual. This comes down to a kind of survival battle where you have to beat one team after the other for as long as possible. And the enemies just keep on coming!

You get a total of 300 seconds for these fights, after which you immediately get a boss fight in which next time-out determines who has won. This game does seem (or claim) to have some form of 'plot' but it is mainly just a good old ‘throwing of the punches’. And that's totally okay too! Free to download June 1-15 with Xbox Live Gold.

Injustice: Gods Among Us

If you're looking for some inhuman, no, GODLY action, you're in the right place this month! Injustice: Gods Among Us pits the superheroes and villains of the DC Universe against each other. These characters alone make this a fighting game you don’t want to miss out on! Your favorite good guys and bad guys do what they do best on your screen and of course they all have different, unique fighting styles, all of which you can try.

The arenas in which all this action takes place are very original and can significantly influence your game. Depending on the character you choose and the location where you fight, all these factors determine how well (or badly) this fight will turn out for you. Every match can end completely differently! Injustice: Gods Among Us is available to download for free from June 16 to June 30 with an Xbox Live Gold subscription.
