What is Pokémon GO Fest? 

Pokémon GO Fest is an annual online and offline festival that, as the name already suggests, is all about Pokémon. During Pokémon GO Fest, you can participate in a number of fun challenges and activities. For example, you can catch new (and old) generation Pokémon, compete in epic raids and complete special research tasks.

The first two Pokémon GO Fest events were held in Chicago. Then in 2019, the event was hosted in Chicago, Dortmund and Yokohama. In 2021, Pokémon GO Trainers could attend the festivities of Pokémon GO Fest in up to 21 European, UK and American cities. In 2022, Pokémon GO Fest will return to the roots where Pokémon GO Fest 2019 was brought to life in Chicago, Dortmund and Yokohama.

When is Pokémon GO Fest 2022?

The Pokémon GO Fest 2022 global two-day online event will be on Saturday June 4 2022 and Sunday June 5 2022. This time, the Pokémon GO Team has also announced a bonus finale event on Saturday, August 27 2022! Besides the online event, there'll also be in-person events at three different locations.

The three in-person Pokémon GO Fest 2022 events will be held at the following locations:

• July 1 to July 3: Berlin, Germany
• July 22 to July 24: Seattle, USA
• August 5 to August 7: Sapporo, Japan
  
  

What are the Pokémon GO Fest 2022 activities? 

There are several activities you can participate in during Pokémon GO Fest 2022. With a Pokémon GO Fest 2022 ticket, you can:

• Get special event stickers at PokéStops
• Get exclusive in-game items, pose, and a medal for your avatar
• Turn on an Incense, and you might encounter Unown B, G, O, and U
• Get up to 9 Raid Passes on Saturday and Sunday when you turn the Gym Photo Discs
• Complete research tasks on Saturday, and you may encounter Land Forme Shaymin
• Catch Pokémon in four Collection Challenges, featuring City, Plains, Rainforest and Tundra themes
• On Saturday, you can participate in the Global Challenge Arena, which lets you unlock special bonuses with trainers from around the world
• A free ticket to the Pokémon GO Fest event on Saturday, August 27, 2022 - giving you access to new Special Research, exciting confrontations with Pokémon and more!  
  
  

Free events during Pokémon GO Fest 2022

During Pokémon GO Fest 2022, everyone can participate (so even those without tickets) in the following events: 

• Compete in the Global Challenge Arena on Sunday
• Receive fun rewards by participating in the short Special Research story on Sunday
• Catch Pokémon during four rotating themed habitat hours on Saturday - each with different Pokémon - and enjoy special confetti on your map!
• Take snapshots so they can be seen on the Today View. Share your snaps with the hashtag #PokemonGOFest2022, and you may see them pass by during the event!

Which shiny Pokémon may you encounter during Pokémon GO Fest 2022?

On the first day of Pokémon GO Fest 2002, you can catch several Pokémon during the four rotating themed habitat hours: City, Plains, Rainforest and Tundra. Depending on the hour, you may encounter the following shiny Pokémon:

On Saturday, you can come across the Shiny variant of the special Pikachu and Axew in raids. Also, a very secret Pokémon will be added to the raids on Sunday. In addition, ticket holders may be able to encounter the shiny variant of Land Forme Shaymin. 

Pokémon GO Fest Ticket

Pokémon GO Fest is basically for free. But to be able to gain access to special events, you'll need a Pokémon GO Ticket. These tickets will be available for purchase in the in-game shop of Pokémon GO.

A Pokémon GO Fest 2022 ticket costs £12.99. Unfortunately, you'll not be able to buy your Pokémon GO Fest ticket using in-game PokéCoins. Instead, you'll have to use a creditcard or Apple & Google Play credit.
