Ubisoft kicks off our list with Rainbow Six Extraction. This game was announced back in 2019, but due to the pandemic, the release was delayed. Fortunately, it is finally here! 

In this online multiplayer first-person shooter game, you take on various hostile alien creatures, such as the Chimera parasite and its evolving 'Archæans'. You often determine your tactics in advance, but due to sudden events you have to change them every time. So you can imagine that this game keeps you on the edge of your seat at all times. Are you ready to take on these deadly and intelligent organisms together with your friends?

Pokémon Legends: Arceus

This Nintendo Switch exclusive introduces you to the Hisui region and the fun characters you may encounter there. Hisui is a vast region, and every place has its own Pokémon ecosystem. For example, you'll find very different Pokémon in the countryside than in the harsh cold mountains. Your goal is to catch and research as many wild Pokémon as possible and to complete the region's first Pokédex!

While the game respects the gameplay of your previous favorite Pokémon games, some fun and exciting action and RPG elements have been added. For example, the way you catch Pokémon is very different. You can observe the wild Pokémon beforehand, so that you know exactly how to catch your future Pokémon friend!

Sifu

If you love martial arts you’re in luck. Sifu is a third-person action-Kung Fu game, in which the slick moves constantly splash off your screen. You play a young Kung Fu student, who wants to avenge his family. He has no allies, but an awful lot of enemies. 

Sifu's gameplay is very unique. Every time your character dies, he returns as an older version of himself - until he finds his final death. This resembles the idea that you learn from your mistakes as you go through life. Will you manage to become a Kung Fu master in just one lifetime?

Horizon Forbidden West

During your search for the secrets responsible for the plague, you fight against huge machines and evil enemies. You will also meet peculiar characters and get to know new tribes and rich cultures. Are you curious about the mystery that will change Aloy forever?

Elden Ring

Our list of game releases would be incomplete without Elden Ring. The inventors of the 'Soulsborne' or 'Souls-like' genre worked together with Game of Thrones author George R.R. Martin on this promising action-RPG. George has had a lot of influence on the setting of the game, so that’s promising! 

The story takes place in The Lands Between. This gigantic fantasy world is packed with unique landscapes and complex dungeons. You will fight against fearsome creatures and meet peculiar characters who will do their best to interfere with your progress. 

Elden Ring is a game for the hardcore gamer. Are you ready for this epic challenge?

Gran Turismo 7

One of the longest running franchises of racing simulation games makes its comeback this year with Gran Turismo 7. In this game, you can choose between various game modes. Whether you prefer to design stickers, collect cars or simply have a good time, it doesn't matter! There is a game mode for everyone. 

Unlock unique challenges by playing the awesome solo campaign, where you buy, sell or race cars. Prefer to race against others? Test your skills in the sports mode. Another cool thing is that you can buy state-of-the-art "second-hand" supercars right from the beginning. Honestly, we can't wait!

Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin

Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin is an action RPG with a hardcore Souls-like gameplay. What's great about the game is that you can create your own unique gameplay. For example, you can choose from various difficulty levels. You can also fill in the 'job-tree' to your liking, which determines the skills of your character. In addition, there is a wide range of weapons and jobs.

In the game you play Jack, the leader of The Warriors of Light. Together with Ash the comedian and Jed, who seems to be the muscle, you take on the challenge of bringing back the light of crystals from Cornelia. Or, as Jack says it in the game’s epic trailer: "Kill Chaos! Will you be able to save the world from darkness?

Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands

Chaos', 'adventure' and 'madness' are words that best describe Tiny Tina's Wonderlands. Tiny Tina's Wonderlands is a spin-off of the well-known shooter-looter game Borderlands and therefore has the same steampunk vibe.

Create your own hero and choose from different classes - or combine them. You decide how you play the game! Defeat different baddies in frantic first-person battles - or turn them into sheep for fun! Explore unique worlds and ominous dungeons for epic loot.

Hogwarts Legacy

The second to last game we'll discuss with you in this article is Hogwarts Legacy. The game is due at the end of 2022, but the exact date is not yet known. Nevertheless, we simply couldn't skip this game in our list. We are really looking forward to playing this game!

In this RPG, you'll learn spells, brew potions and discover the mysteries of the Wizarding World. If you're a true Harry Potter fan, and love open world RPGs, then this game is a must-have!

God of War: Ragnarök

Last but not least on our list is God of War: Ragnarök! The release of the game has been postponed to this year, but there is no exact date yet. Still, we think the game is worth discussing with you! 

The story takes place three years after God of War and is about, as the title suggests, the end of times called Ragnarök. It is the task of Kratos and his son Atreus to stop this catastrophic event. 

The game takes place in the nine worlds of Norse mythology, which this time includes Vanaheim, Svartalvheim and Asgard (the worlds of Yggdrasil that are missing from God of War). In the game, you fight against various creatures and humans with legendary weapons and powers. Will you be able to prevent the destruction of the world?
