Season 7 of the wildly popular shooting- and building game Fortnite has arrived! To celebrate this, we would like to answer 7 of the most frequently asked questions about Fortnite in this blog. Wondering if you already know everything there is to know about Fortnite? Let’s find out!
According to Fortnite developer Epic Games, the game has more than 350 million registered players. That is about 4% of the world population!
However, this metric dates back to May 2020, so it could be more or less at this moment. You also have to take into account that a 'registered player' is something very different from people who actually visit the Fortnite servers on a daily basis. If you created an account months ago but are hardly ever online anymore, you still count as a registered player.
Nevertheless, Fortnite is enjoyed by a lot of people worldwide and with the arrival of Season 7 there will undoubtedly be many new players too!
The launch of the brand new season is of course an Event in itself! For the time being, Epic Games is not revealing much about what awaits us in terms of new season content and whether there will be a new intro mission as was the case with season 6, for example.
In previous seasons, we’ve already seen many large-scale Events on the Fortnite servers, where players have to be online at exactly the right time to get the most out of it. Whether these were group matches or even music concerts, a Fortnite event always attracts many players from all over the world! Let's hope it won't be any different for Season 7 and that there are many fun events waiting to be announced very soon!
The offer in the Fortnite Item Shop changes daily, so everything we write here will be outdated in no-time. For Season 7, you can assume that the shop will be completely dominated by the Invasion that is currently going on:
Think aliens, UFOs, space weapons with extraterrestrial technologies and a brand new way to create and customize your own Kymera (alien)! However, for the latter you need a Battle Pass, so that you can collect all Alien Artifacts and start customizing your new Alien character.
As you may have noticed, this season’s theme is the Alien Invasion and depending on the course of this season, the Item Shop will probably also be dominated by that same theme.
We have already been teased with possible skins from Rick (& Morty?) and Superman. Of course you want to get those, the minute they are available! So make sure that you already have enough V-Bucks topped up in your account. That way once these spacy skins and items become available in the Fortnite Item Shop, you can get your hands on them immediately!
Fortnite first saw the light of day on July 25, 2017. We are now already at the 7th season, oh how time flies!
Fortnite was developed by Epic Games, which you may also know from the Unreal and Gears of War game series.
We can explain that to you in writing, but of course we can also show you with the video below:
It sure is! Fortnite is completely free to download and play, both the Battle Royale and the Creative mode are completely at your disposal. You can also choose to make in-game purchases in Fortnite. For example, new skins for your character or other cool items. This is not mandatory at all, but it sure is fun to create your own character.
These micro-transactions are done with V-Bucks, Fortnite's in-game currency. You can easily add these V-Bucks to your account and spend them on whatever you want! But to do so, you often have to link a payment method to your account or console.
If you’re not a big fan of linking your billing info to your account or console for whatever reason, there’s another option! At Startselect, we make it super easy to buy credit for the console of your choice. This way you can top up your V-Bucks or a purchase Battle Pass without being tied to anything or facing surprises afterwards. Now that's what we call carefree gaming!
Say, don't you have an Alien Invasion you need to stop from happening? Go Fort(nite) and check out the brand new Season 7!
