Welcome to the Sparkle Theater! Princess Peach and a group of Toads are invited to this special theater for a magical show. But, the night takes a dark turn when Grape and the Sour Bunch attack the venue. Together with the sparkling fairy Stella, Peach takes on the lead role to save the theater!
In different costumes, you have to help Peach complete all the levels and bosses. Your wardrobe is not only fashionable, but also functional as the outfits come with special abilities. Dress up as a detective to solve puzzles, a ninja to sneak around enemies, or a mermaid to complete underwater adventures.
No, unfortunately Princess Peach: Showtime is a solo-show. The game will not have multiplayer functionality.
It’s been a long time since Princess Peach has had her very own game. The first was called Super Princess Peach and was released for the Nintendo DS in 2005. In this platformer, Nintendo switched their usual story and had Princess Peach rescue Mario and Luigi, who were kidnapped by Bowser.
The story takes place on Vibe Island, where all the inhabitants are unable to control their emotions thanks to Bowser. However, this strange occurrence gives Peach the power to switch between four emotions at will and these upgrade her with special abilities. She can choose between joy, gloom, rage, and calm to help her in levels.
Although many players enjoyed the first Princess Peach game, some thought that the focus on emotions in the first game of this female character was untasteful. We’re glad however that Nintendo decided to create a new game around the iconic princess after almost 20 years!
Although the Princess Peach: Showtime release date is almost here, Nintendo is keeping the official developers a secret. When asked about it, the game studio told Eurogamer that all will be revealed in the credits.
But observant fans may have found a clue in the demo. Data miners on Reddit found the dev codename in the demo files. The codename for Princess Peach: Showtime is PJ037, which closely resembles the codenames for Yoshi's Crafted World (PJ033) and Kirby's Extra Epic Yarn (PJ040). This might suggest that Princess Peach: Showtime was created by the same developers as these games, which is Good-Feel.
