Is Fortnite OG coming back in 2024?
With over 100 million players in November 2023, the return of the OG Fortnite map was a massive success. But can we expect the return of OG Fortnite, and if so, when? Here’s what we know so far about Fortnite OG in 2024.
What is Fortnite OG?
Fortnite OG was the fifth Season of Chapter 4 in Fortnite. Throughout the Season, the original Fortnite map, along with a bunch of OG weapons and items, were reintroduced to the game. Fortnite OG was around from November 3, 2023, to December 2, 2023. During that time, the game broke several records, hitting a peak of almost 6 million simultaneous players and 44.7 million unique players.
The OG Fortnite map and OG Fortnite skins
During the Fortnite OG Season, various locations from the old Fortnite map returned with weekly updates. Players could revisit places like Tilted Towers, Retail Row, Pleasant Park, and Salty Springs. Additionally, the skins in the Battle Pass were inspired by various OG Fortnite skins like Renegade Raider, Black Knight, and Ragnarok. Lastly, some OG Fortnite weapons were brought back during the Season, such as the Assault Rifle (Scar), Pump Shotgun, Tactical Shotgun, Rocket Launcher, and Loot Llama.
When is OG Fortnite coming back?
After the success of OG Fortnite in 2023, Epic Games mentioned their desire to bring back OG Fortnite sometime in 2024 on X: “Ngl the OG season far exceeded our expectations. So much so that we’d like to bring it back… opens 2024 roadmap doc. In the meantime, see you on the Battle Bus!”
So, there’s no exact date for the return of Fortnite OG yet, but we can expect a second OG Season at some point in 2024.
