Fable is coming in autumn 2026

Fable (also known as Fable 4 among gamers) will release in autumn 2026 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. This was confirmed during the Xbox Developer Direct in January 2026. In this stream, it was also confirmed that the game will be available from day one with Xbox Game Pass.

Is Fable a new game?

The new Fable game is a reboot of the iconic Fable game from 2004. The fantasy RPG series has been around since 2001. Fable follows the same hero story as its predecessor but with improved gameplay and design. For example, it’s now completely open-world, and there are a lot more choices to make.

Furthermore, your actions have a bigger impact on the world around you. How you treat NPCs changes how they see you. Since your hero story doesn’t just depend on how many battles you win but also on your reputation, your actions can have a huge impact on your experience.
