What is Days of Play?

Days of Play is an event for all PlayStation gamers (even if you don’t have PlayStation Plus or Now) with plenty of challenges, prizes, promotions and extras that you can participate in. All PS4 and PS5 players will have the opportunity to unlock exclusive content like themes, avatars and items by taking part in the "Community Challenges". The planned activities for Days Of Play can be divided into 3 categories: playing PS4 / PS5 games, earning trophies and achieving bonus goals. All these activities are spread out over a period of 3 weeks. 

So why participate? Well, for the amazing prices of course! Anyone who registers for the Days Of Play event can earn exclusive PSN avatars and dynamic PS4 themes, along with separate bonus prizes for achieving various community goals. There will be a massive Days Of Play Celebration Sale in the PlayStation Store during this event, as well as a free Online Multiplayer weekend!

This PlayStation Plus Online Multiplayer weekend means that you and your friends can play online and enjoy the PlayStation Plus features at no extra cost. This way you’ll get a lot more play out of your games! Normally you would need a PlayStation Plus subscription for this, but during the Days Of Play 2021 event this will be completely free for an entire weekend! How do you participate in Days of Play? 

As a member of the Sony / PlayStation community you can easily participate in Days Of Play 2021. But first you have to register. This is possible until May 31st. As soon as the Days Of Play event starts, this event will be split into 3 phases, each lasting a week. Each phase has its own "community goal" that must be achieved: 

• the Play goal 
• the Trophy goal
• the Bonus goal

For the Play Goal, as the name might suggest, the goal is to play as many PS4 / PS5 games as you can during the week. A requirement for this is that you have to play a game for at least 1 hour per week, otherwise it will not count towards the community’s Play Goal.

The Trophy Goal is also fairly self-explanatory. Players must collect trophies to be counted in the community tally with a limit of 6 trophies per player, per week. So it’s not about achieving a whole collection of super easy platinums and adding hundreds of trophies to the community goal. The whole idea is making a 'community effort' together with the other players, which of course makes it a lot more challenging but also a lot more fun!

Then there’s the Bonus Goal, this goal will be different every week. For now it is not yet known what the bonus goal of the first week will be, so we’ll have to wait and see! That’s why it’s a good idea to register for the Days Of Play 2021 event now. That way you'll be immediately informed of the latest developments and announcements!

How long does Days of Play last and when does it start?

The Days of Play event starts on Tuesday, May 18th, 2021. Signing up for this event is possible until May 31st. After you have registered, you can participate in the next ‘stage’, as soon as it starts. The entire event will last 3 weeks and will end on Monday June 7th.
