More than 20 years after Kirby Air Ride was released on the GameCube, we get a second instalment to this adorable racing game. Kirby Air Riders is a racing game featuring iconic Kirby characters and is set to release later this year.
We can’t forget about Donkey Kong! The iconic gorilla with a tie is coming to the Switch 2 with an open world 3D adventure. The trailer shows Kong in loads of different worlds, ranging from snowy mountaintops to colourful flower fields. Donkey Kong Bananza releases on July 17.
Just like Breath of the Wild, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is getting a Hyrule Warriors edition. Age of Imprisonment follows the events that took place before Tears of the Kingdom when princess Zelda was transported to the past. The game is set to release in the winter of 2025.
In the Switch 2 Overview trailer, we saw that the new Joy-Cons support mouse control. One game that really makes the most of this new feature is Drag X Drive. It’s a basketball game where all the characters are in a wheelchair. You control this wheelchair by using your Joy-Cons like a mouse. Drag x Drive is set to release in the summer of this year.
To optimise iconic Switch 1 games for the Switch 2, Nintendo is creating expansion packs. These packs can include visual improvements, new features, additional game modes or other upgrades. If you already have the Switch 1 version of a game, you can buy the expansion pack in the eShop. You can choose a bundle that includes the Switch 1 game and the expansion pack.
