Black Ops 6 Storyline and Setting

The Black Ops 6 story is a spy action thriller set in the early 1990s, mixing real-life history with signature Black Ops storytelling. After the Cold War has ended, the United States rises as a single superpower, but a shadowy force has infiltrated the US Government. As a result, the story forces players to go rogue to fight corruption.

Black Ops 6 Game Modes

As we’ve grown accustomed to in previous Call of Duty titles, Black Ops 6 features three main game modes: campaign, multiplayer, and zombies. These are the most important features and announcements for each game mode.

Campaign:

• The campaign timeframe is directly connected to the 1980s flashbacks from Black Ops 2.
• Frank Woods returns as the through-line in the campaign story after his injury at the hands of Raul Menendez.
• New character: Troy Marshall, Frank Woods’ protégé and the methodical leader of the team.
• New character: Jane Harrow, a CIA handler who helps manage the team’s relationships with the agency.
• New character: Felix Neumann, a technical genius aiding the team.
• New character: Sevati Dumas, a mysterious assassin assisting the team.
• The campaign is set in locations all over the world, with missions that can be completed using a variety of methods.
• The Manor: a central base of operations between campaign missions, similar to the Safehouse from Black Ops Cold War.
  
  

Multiplayer:

• 16 new multiplayer maps at launch: 12 6v6 maps and 4 maps for 2v2 or Face Off 6v6.
• Return of the classic prestige system: 10 prestige levels, with everything resetting once you prestige.
• New omnimovement system that allows you to sprint, slide, and dive in any direction. Omnimovement is a global system present in campaign, multiplayer, and zombies.
• Intelligent movement: new settings make it easier to sprint, mantle, and crouch exactly when you want to (sprint assist, mantle assist, and crouch assist).
• More enemy hit zones: hit zone regions have been increased from 4 to 9. Damage and the way enemies drop after being killed is calculated based on these regions.
• Corner slicing: as you go around a corner or through a doorway, your weapon dynamically rotates in the same direction.
• Visually improved operators.
• Diverse lineup of weapons from the 1990s, featuring old favorites and newcomers.
• Ability to customize the heads-up display (HUD): set the HUD icons wherever you want them on your screen.
  
  

Zombies:

• Round-based zombies are back.
• Two brand new maps: Liberty Falls and Terminus, each with their own unique set of weapons.
• Set crew with 4 characters, but also the possibility to use your own operator.
• Continuation of the Dark Aether narrative from Black Ops Cold War.
