The Halloween season has arrived and that means one thing for FIFA players: Rulebreakers is here! The Rulebreakers event, previously known as “FIFA Ultimate Scream”, is FIFA’s yearly in-game Halloween special. During the event, you can get access to a unique batch of player cards that get a supernatural stat boost, breaking the traditional rules of football. What can we expect this year and when will Rulebreakers launch? We’re covering it all in this blog!
The Rulebreakers event is FIFA’s annual in-game event for Halloween. Up until FIFA 21, the event was named “FIFA Ultimate Scream”. Last year, EA decided to opt for a new handle, namely Rulebreakers. This name refers to the rule breaking boosts that some players receive as a part of the event. For example, during last year’s event, Harry Kane’s Pace stat was boosted from 68 to a whopping 91, creating one of the most dangerous offensive player cards. However, the Rulebreaker cards also come with some drawbacks. In Kane’s case, his shooting stat was decreased from 91 to 87. With dramatically altered stats, these Rulebreakers shift their traditional style of play, shaking up the current meta in FUT. You can obtain these new player cards through opening packs, completing Squad Building Challenges and completing new limited-time Objectives. You’ll definitely want to keep an eye on any Rulebreaker card that you can get your hands on, as they’ll surely be a nice addition to your squad!

This year, EA has announced that the Rulebreakers event from last year will return, starting on October 29th. You can even follow a live countdown for the event, which appears in the in-game menus. The first Rulebreakers team will immediately be released at the start of the event. We can expect a second team to drop in the weeks afterwards, similarly to how we received two different Rulebreaker teams in FIFA 21.
The first Rulebreakers team has already been released by EA. This time around, star players like Erling Haaland and Casemiro see their stats drastically boosted. Haaland’s Passing has been increased from 65 to 90 and Casemiro mainly benefits from a boosted Shooting stat (73 to 86). Here’s the list of all the Rulebreakers from Team 1:
