Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4 - August 20, 2026

Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4 is launching on August 20, 2026. This season, called Override, seems to focus on hacking into the island to stop Geno before it's GAME OVER. The official artwork for the season features characters like Sonic, Pac-Man, Crash Bandicoot, Spyro, Dr. Eggman, Joker from Persona 5, Scorpion, Raiden, Kitana, and many more.

There’s a lot of new stuff coming to Fortnite in the new season.

Main Character Energy: Sonic

New this season is Sonic the Hedgehog, available as a Battle Pass skin and the main protagonist of Season 4, taking on this season’s main villain, Geno. And for those who have been paying close attention, this isn’t actually the first time we’ve seen Sonic in Fortnite. He previously made an appearance in September 2025 with the release of the 918 Spider Vehicle, which included a Sonic variant.

Override Consoles

Override Consoles appear in every match. If you’re the first to activate one, you can rewrite the rules of the server. Keep in mind that your name will become visible afterwards, and Rare Overrides will reveal your location!

New Sprites in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4

Sprites can be found all across the island. When you pick one up, you’ll gain an additional inventory slot. Each Sprite is unique and comes with its own special bonuses. Sprites from Season 3 will remain available in the new Spirit Garden mode. The new Sprites being introduced this season are:

• Sonic Sprite: Sprint faster, let's go!
• Tails Sprite: Lets you hover in the air.
• Bush Sprite: Spawns a Bush, gain a Bush on elimination at max level. 
• 8-Bit Sprite: Score multiplier when finding an 8-Bit Shotgun in your first chest.
• Shadow Sprite: Automatic reloading of weapons over time.
• Jackrabbit Sprite: Lets you double jump.
• Killswitch Sprite: Gives you hangtime with improved accuracy.
• Victory Crown Sprite: After winning a Victory Royale, you’ll gain an extra Crown. 
• Klombo Sprite: Very rare, grants random items at each level.
• Jonesy Sprite: Recover Health or Shield after being damaged.
  
  

Sprite Improvements

There are also some Sprite Quality of Life improvements in season 4:

• You can now easily check during a match if you’ve already collected a Sprite.
• When you approach a Sprite, its name will appear so you can immediately see which one you’ve encountered.
• You’ll now need less Sprite Dust to summon rare Sprites and their variants.
• Sprites can now be summoned faster, allowing your companion to join you in battle sooner.

In season 4, you can discover Stone Sanctum, Green Hill Zone and Reality’s Reign.

Gizmo consumable items

Gizmo items are available all season and give you quick ways to supercharge your Sprite bonuses.

New Gizmos

A fresh batch of Gizmos arrives this Season:

• Cheat Code Locator: Find the Cheat Code closest to your location.
• Extraction Accelerator: Activate a nearby Extraction Site without making a sound and instantly summon the Extraction Crate.
• Llama Supply Drop: Summon an upgraded llama themed Supply Drop at your current location.
• Spicy Taco: Restore health and get a boost to your speed and stamina. Share it with your squad to kick off a Taco Time party.

• Midas’ Masterpiece: Single-headshot pistol

• 1-Up Token: Respawn with full inventory after elimination
