What is Secret Santa?

Secret Santa is a form of gift exchange that is usually played around Christmas. The idea is that a group of people secretly buy gifts for each other and when a person opens their gifts, they have to guess who their Santa is. It is a fun spin on giving gifts during the holidays and enjoyed by people all over the world.

How to play Secret Santa

Playing Secret Santa is easy! We’ve summed up some steps for you to follow:

  1. Get your Secret Santa group together and invite them over
  2. Have everyone write their name and two gift ideas on a piece of paper
  3. Fold the papers and put them in a bowl, hat, box, or anything else you can use
  4. Have everyone pick a piece of paper (the name you pick will be the person you buy a gift for)
  5. Agree on a budget
  6. Come together around Christmas for the gift exchange
  7. Then the most important part: guess who your Secret Santa was!

You can choose to have everyone reveal who they bought a gift for or keep it a secret forever.
