UFL offers a brand new “free to play and fair to play” take on the popular football simulation game genre. The game features four in-game currencies—CP, RP, LP & SP—which can be confusing at first . Let’s dive into what these currencies are and how you can use them to dominate the pitch in UFL!
We’ll go over all four main currencies in UFL: CP, RP, LP, and SP. Keep in mind, all the info we currently have on these in-game currencies stems from the Open Beta and may change with the full release of the game on December 5, 2024.
CP, or Credits, is the currency you’ll use to buy players for your team. When you purchase a player, the price is paid in CP, so managing and earning CP is essential to determine who you can afford. However, CP is not the only currency involved when purchasing players: higher-rated players will also require you to have enough RP (Reputation) to sign them (more on that in the RP section).
You can earn CP simply by playing the game, meaning there is no quick way to gain large amounts of CP instantly. Smart spending is crucial with CP, as selling a player will only recover half of the CP you initially spent. So, you don’t want to be buying and selling top-tier players all the time.
RP, or Reputation, isn't a typical currency; it's more of a cap that controls how powerful your squad can be. Each player you sign consumes a portion of your RP, with higher-rated players requiring more and lower-rated players requiring less or even none. So for higher-rated players, you'll not only pay CP but also a portion of your available RP.
The more you play, the more RP you earn, allowing you to field stronger players. You can also free up RP by selling players on your squad. Unlike CP, when you sell a player, you get back all of the RP that player consumed. Selling players from your bench or ones you rarely use frees up more space to sign higher-rated players, provided you also have the CP necessary.
LP is a versatile currency that can be used to buy Player Skins and additional player slots for your club. Player Skins are items that can be equipped to players you already have, meaning you don’t automatically get a player when you get a skin. Some Player Skins are player-specific, while others are position-specific (for example, they can only be applied to a striker or goalkeeper). When equipped, skins provide bonuses like XP boosts to specific players, allowing you to level them up faster and unlock new skills or attributes, making them more effective on the pitch.
LP is earned through season pass rewards and completing weekly objectives. It is also likely that you’ll be able to purchase LP with real money in the full release of UFL.
SP is a special currency tied to the UFL Battle Pass system. Whether you choose the Team Pass or the Elite Pass, SP lets you unlock various rewards once you’ve purchased the pass and leveled it up.
You earn SP by completing in-game challenges. You also get bonus SP when buying either the Team Pass or Elite Pass (one of the battle passes).
Balancing CP and RP will be crucial for buying new players and building a strong squad, while LP allows for speeding up your progress, customizing your players, and expanding your club’s size. Meanwhile, SP rewards your progress through the Battle Pass. By mastering these currencies, you’ll be well on your way to building a team that can rise to the top.
