This month's games - September 2016

We’re already a week into September, but it’s the first Wednesday of the month so it’s time to look at all the games that are releasing the coming weeks. And there's a whole lot of them!

Bioshock: The Collection (Sept 13)

Okay, we all highly suspected this was coming, but I was still pleasantly surprised when 2K announced a HD remake for the entire Bioshock trilogy a few weeks ago. The first Bioshock is one of my favourite games of all times and while the sequel couldn’t really hold my attention as long as it should have, part three (Infinite) was once again a marvellous game. Bioshock: The Collection features updated graphics, finetuned controls and other stuff you can expect from a remaster. It releases on PS4, Xbox One and PC.

Destiny: Rise of Iron (Sept 20)

Destiny turns two years old this month, and it’s time for the game’s fourth expansion: Rise of Iron. The story revolves around the Fallen, who have breached the walls of Earth’s last safe city. The game adds a new patrol zone to the Earth called Plaguelands, there will be new story missions, PvP maps, a new PvP mode and of course a whole lot of gear and weapons.

FIFA 17 (Sept 27)

Every year around this time there will be a new FIFA game, so fans know what to expect; better graphics, some AI improvements, a few new techniques and tactics… But this year Electronic Arts also introduces a new game mode called The Journey. In this mode you will play as Alex Hunter, a young footballer trying to make it big in the Premier League.

Don’t forget that you will need to stock up on Xbox Marketplace and PlayStation Store credit if you want to buy card packs for FIFA Ultimate Team.  Check out the Xbox and PlayStation products here on Startselect (availability depending on region).
