Are you still playing Pokémon GO? If the answer is 'no', the new update might want to make you return to the app. An update later this week will make Pokémon from Generation 2 (the Pokémon Gold and Silver games) appear in your neighborhood. If it has always been your dream to own a Totodile or a Quagsire: now is your chance. In addition to the new Pokémon, the update will also add new berries, new avatar clothing and new gameplay features to the app.
More exciting updates for Pokémon GO are also coming in the future. Niantic's John Hanke said in an interview that the long-requested trading and PVP features are 'on the way'. He also teased possible updates to the battling system, calling the current version 'rudimentary'. When or how these next updates will be released is uncertain, but for now we can at least look foward to some new Pokémon to catch.
