In Amerika, this has already happened and we will be next. The prices for the PlayStation Plus Subscriptions will be greatly increased by August 31st. With this price increase, PlayStation will almost even up with Xbox Live Gold. What this will mean for you:
- Annual PlayStation Plus memberships will increase from €49,99 to €59,99.
- Quarterly prices will rise from €19,99 to €24,99.
- Monthly prices will go up from €6,99 to €7,99.
If you are a PlayStation Plus member, you will see that every returning subscriptions cost will have the increased price from now on. To prevent you from paying the new price already, you can still purchase a PlayStation Plus subscription for the next few days. Purchasing any subscription will extend your existing subscription with every membership you bought. this way you can still benefit the lower price.
If you want to prevent your subscription from renewing every time, you can disable ‘Auto-renew’ in your account settings. To prevent this automatic renewal in the future, switch to giftcards instead. With giftcards, you can choose a number of months you want PlayStation Plus without being lumbered with automatic renewals. The subscription is over when you have had your last month. You can then renew your subscription at any moment with Startselect. This way you won’t get any expensive surprises.
