Electronic Arts has been providing fans and gamers early access to some of their biggest games for a while now. You already had the chance to play FIFA 17 a week early and next month it’s time for Battlefield 1 in the Battlefield 1 Play First trial.
With Battlefield 1 Play First, you can start playing Battlefield 1 for 10 hours before the game is actually released - provided you're playing on the PC or Xbox One. After those 10 hours, you’ll have to wait for the official release before you can start playing again. However, all the progress you have made during the Early Access (such as unlocked weapons and attachments) will be available to you in the full game.
All Play First players also get an exclusive dog-tag and if you make use of the entire 10 hour trial there will also be a Battlepack waiting for you once the game launches.
Battlefield 1 Play First launches on October 13. The game itself will launch on October 21, unless you pre-order the Early Enlister Deluxe Edition, which provides access on October 18.
The Battlefield 1 Play First trial features four modes: Conquest, Rush, Operations and Domination. You can play on five different maps called St. Quentin Scar, Sinai Desert, Amiens, Fao Fort and Suez. You’ve probably already seen some of St. Quentin during the closed alpha and if you’ve participated in the beta you already know Sinai Desert by heart.
There will also be two missions from the singlepayer campaign: Storm of Steel and Through Mud and Blood.
Battlefield 1 Play First is exclusive to EA Access (Xbox One) or Origin Access (PC) members. Both services come with a subscription fee of €3,99 (£3.99) a month.
Both EA and Origin Access come with a selection of games that are free to play for members called the EA Vault. Games like Battlefield 4, FIFA 16, Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare and Titanfall are available to both platforms, but there are subtle differences between the two lists.
Being an EA/Origin Access member also gives you 10% discount on all EA digital purchases. This includes Battlefield 1 itself.
Don’t forget that you can buy your Xbox Marketplace and PlayStation Store credit right here at Startselect to pre-order the game or eventually buy weapon packs. (availability depends on region)
