Gamescom is the place to meet up if you like games. Companies are showing their newest games, gadgets and hardware here. As a visitor, you will be overwhelmed with trailers, posters and lifelike statues just to get you interested. We will be looking at the most important stands for us at Gamescom 2017.

Ubisoft, EA and Bandai Namco

EA had a lot AAA-games to show us this year. Games like Battlefront 2, FIFA 18 and Need for Speed Payback were all playable to give you a heads up on what you will be getting at the release. Especially Battlefront 2 felt really well. The new DLC, In the Name of Tsar, from Battlefield 1 was also playable. At Ubisoft, we are of course all waiting for Assassins Creed: Origins, Far Cry 5 and Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle. All games had a small demo which you could play, so you will get a glimpse of how the real game will feel. Although you had to wait a while before you could play any of these games. Bandai Namco wasn’t very big this year. Only two games were playable at the stand. Project Cars 2 and Ni No Kuni 2. Both games played exceptionally well and we are looking forward to what the games will bring.

PlayStation and Blizzard
Like the rest, Blizzard also knows how to entertain the visitors. The stands were built down to the last detail and the atmosphere was amazing. You could enjoy a relaxing game of Hearthstone in the tavern or dive into action at Overwatch. Besides that, there were also Show games of Heroes of the Storm and you were able to play World of Warcraft Patch 7.3 and the Remastered version of Starcraft. At the PlayStation zone, you could enjoy a local multiplayer game of the upcoming Call of Duty WWII and Destiny 2. And of course, you were able to experience different PlayStation VR games like Skyrim and Gran Turismo Sport. Enough to keep you busy we would say.

Microsoft
The new Xbox One X was out there to try out for the first time and also Forza Motorsport 7, that will be released in October, was already playable. Thanks to the Cooperation with Bluehole Studio Inc. PlayersUnknown’s Battleground was also in the Microsoft zone. Furthermore, there were games like Age of Empires Definitive Edition, Halo Wars 2 and Sea of Thieves.

Nintendo and Square Enix
Nintendo came in big with new games for us to try out. Super Mario Odyssey will be released soon and we had the chance to be one of the first to ever play this game. Although the queue was long, it’s totally worth it. Of course, FIFA 18, the first soccer game on the Nintendo Switch was there. Square Enix showed us the different Final Fantasy games that are going to be released and games that are already in the market. The zone was dedicated to mostly Final Fantasy.

Something for everyone
Gamescom is a place for everyone. Whether you are interested in the newest games that will be released, you want to be the first to ever see the game trailer, like to be other the picture with the best cosplayers, like to taste the atmosphere at the different game zones or just like to hang out with the Friends and Family zone. There is always something to do. If you’ve never been to Gamescom before, I would advise you to at least be there once in your life.
