You'll be hard pressed to find an app with more effort put into it than Lumino City. Lumino City is unique as an app, in that everything you see on your screen has been handcrafted using paper, cardboard and glue. The creators of Lumino City crafted the entire city from paper and brought it to life in their app. This alone should really be enough to warrant admiration, but besides the unique and beautiful look that this gives the app, the game itself is excellent as well.
Lumino City is a point and click adventure in which you expore the paper city of Lumino in search of your grandfather. Armed with a manual written by said grandfather, you tackle puzzles to open up the way forward through the city. Whether you're using lemons to fix the power circuit or sticking warning labels back on bottles to develop photographs, everything feels innovative and looks beautiful. Lumino City is light on the difficulty, and your grandfathers manual will help you solve any puzzles that you can't quite wrap your mind around. Those looking for a classic, tough-as-nails point and click puzzler won't find that in Lumino City, but the game is still worth playing for the touching story and charming style.
Lumino City has received its fair share of awards since it was first released in 2014 in PC and has since succesfully made the move to mobile. The app has been out for IOS for over two years, but was only released this week for Android. The game costs €5.49/£4.99 for Android and €4.99/£4.99 for IOS. You can use the buttons below to download the app. Make sure you have enough iTunes or Google Play credit! (Availability depending on region).
