For the next three weeks (until August 22), Blizzard will be celebrating the Olympic Summer Games in Overwatch. Players will be able to collect exclusive Olympic skins, emblems, voice-lines and emotes with the new Olympic Loot Boxes. Any new Loot Boxes players earn or buy will be sporting a new look, but also contain at least one of the new Olympic cosmetic items. You won't be able to buy any of the new items though, so be prepared to open a lot of boxes before you get what you want.
Besides the new Loot Boxes, Blizzard has also launched a new Brawl gamemode; Lúcioball. The mode places you in 3v3 matches in a special Rio-themed arena. Everyone plays Lúcio and you can win by punching and blasting a huge ball into your opponent's goal. We've played around with it a little bit and while it's not nearly as balanced or streamlined as Rocket League (the obvious inspiration here), it's a lot of fun to play a few matches with friends.
The Summer Games in Overwatch last until August 22, so you know how much time you have to grab that awesome new Mercy skin! Looking to buy some Loot Boxes? Take a look at our PlayStation and Xbox products to fill up your digital wallet! (Not yet available in all regions)
