Games With Gold - July 2016

Microsoft unveiled its free Games With Gold titles for next month. In July (and a bit of August) you can download The Banner Saga 2, Tumblestone, Rainbow Six Vegas 2 and TRON: Evolution.

• The Banner Saga 2 - Xbox One (July 1 - 31)
• Tumblestone - Xbox One (July 16 - August 15)
• Rainbow Six Vegas 2 - Xbox 360 + One backwards compatible (July 1 - 15)
• TRON: Evolution - Xbox 360 + One backwards compatible (July 16 - 31)

The Banner Saga 2

After releasing The Banner Saga on PC in January 2014, it took exactly two years before it was available on consoles. The sequel moves a bit faster. After releasing on PC last April, it will launch on consoles this month, with a Games With Gold promotion right from the start. That means you can download this brand new game for free. The Banner Saga 2 is a tactical RPG by Stoic, the same guys who made the original. In the game you're tasked with commanding a band of Viking warriors and making sure they make it out alive. During the story you will have to make a couple of difficult decisions that will alter the flow of the story. 

Tumblestone

Tumblestone is a brand new indie puzzling game by The Quantum Astrophysicists Guild that will also launch on Games With Gold right away. The game is all about local multiplayer puzzle battles, inspired by classics like Tetris and Puyo Puyo.

Rainbow Six Vegas 2

One of the most beloved tactical shooters revisited Sin City in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas 2 in 2008. Create your own special ops identity that will grow and progress with you as you battle through highly tactical singleplayer and multiplayer shootouts. This game launched originally on Xbox 360, but is also playable on Xbox One through backwards compatibility.

TRON: Evolution

Launched as a precursor to the 2010 movie TRON Legacy, TRON Evolution involves high-speed freerunning platform action and capoeira-styled combat. And of course there's the classic TRON Light Cycle races.
